SEREMBAN: Stall operators at Ramadan bazaars in Negri Sembilan must adhere to the "Safe, Clean and Healthy" rule set by the Health Department and local councils, to ensure patrons are served with clean and hygienic food.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan warned that those that failed to abide by the rules will face stern actions.

"We don't want cases of food poisoning," he said at the weekly press conference today, after presenting the 2017 Food Operator Awards to three restaurant operators in the state, who have excelled in maintaining the benchmark set in the above ruling.

Mohamad said the ruling will be enforced without prejudice and that errant stall operators should not blame the health department and local councils if stern actions are taken against them.

"Don't complain by saying that we were not considerate. The rule is being set to protect consumers and to prevent untoward incidents."

Elaborating on the rule, Mohamad said the food served at Ramadan bazaars must be safe and clean to consume, and the operator must also be in healthy condition.

"Only when these three standards are complied with, then the food operators can be allowed to conduct the business.

"If the food is safe and clean, but the operator is ill, the business will be shut down." he warned.

Topping the 2017 Food Operator Awards are Bagan Pinang Food Court in Port Dickson for Category A, Tesco Lukut Food Court (Category C) and Seremban Selatan R&R (Category E).
