KUALA LUMPUR: An unidentified person was found burnt to death in a car parked near the Bagan Serai Chinese Cemetery in Perak.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department received a distress call about a burning Proton Iswara parked by the roadside near a vacant building about 2.05pm.

He said that upon inspection at the scene about 2.30pm, firemen found the charred remains of the victim in the driver's seat of the car.

"The operations commander conducted a size-up, and the team used two water hose lines from the fire engine's tank to fully extinguish the fire. Subsequently, the victim was handed over to the police for further action," he said.

The victim's remains were then taken to Parit Buntar Hospital.
