KOTA BARU: Kelantan police have distributed the picture of Hafizul Harawi, the suspect involved in the shooting at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, to all its police stations located along the border with Thailand.

State police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said police manning the border were told to beef up their survelliance to ensure the 38-year-old suspect did not escape to the neighbouring country.

Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said instructions were issued the moment police identified the suspect involved in the incident which resulted in a bodyguard suffering serious injuries.

According to him, police have also tightened controls at "rat lanes" at the country's borders to prevent the suspect from fleeing abroad.

Razarudin believes the suspect is still in the country and efforts to track him down are being intensified.

"I have faith in the efficiency of my personnel. The suspect will be caught soon," he said.
