ALOR STAR: Police have detained two men to assist in the investigation of the death of a robbery suspect who was run over by his would-be-victim.
The suspect had attempted to rob a man in front of a pharmacy in Kuala Kedah, last Tuesday.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said that both men were arrested separately in Mergong and Jitra on the day of the incident.
He said they have been remanded for six days starting from yesterday until Monday for investigation under Section 393 of the Penal Code.
"As for the victim who caused the death of the (robbery) suspect and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, he has been remanded for four days starting from yesterday until Saturday," he said.
In the incident at 6.39am, a man accelerated his car before hitting one of the three suspects who attempted to rob him and smashed his car window.
