ROMPIN: An unemployed man who was reported as missing by his family at Kuala Rompin on March 8 was actually detained by enforcement authorities in a neighbouring state.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Azman Yusof said the Rompin police station was today alerted by the enforcement agency based in Johor about the 38-year-old man in their custody.

"He is safe and alive. Rompin police were informed that the enforcement agency had detained the individual to assist investigations into a drug case in Johor.

"Police have informed the man's family about his whereabouts."

It remains unclear as to what led to the man's arrest and if he had travelled to Johor prior to his arrest.

The father-of-one was reported missing after leaving his house in Kuala Rompin on March 8.

His wife lodged a report at 8.30pm the same day, claiming that her husband had failed to return home.

Police had shared a poster seeking public help to locate the man.
