KOTA BARU: Two women were arrested by the police for possession of 20,000 methamphetamine pills worth nearly RM130,000 in a raid at Kampung Sering on Monday.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the two, aged 32 and 38, were detained by a police team from the state's Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department.

He added that a Perodua Myvi was also seized from one of the women.

"The two, both locals, have been remanded for seven days beginning Feb 27 to assist police investigations into the case," he said in a statement today.

In another development, Zaki said an army personnel and a public servant were detained in two separate anti-drug operations in Jeli and Tanah Merah on Sunday.

He said the two were arrested for possession of ketum juice and methamphetamine pills.

"The duo, aged 27 and 43, have been remanded to assist police investigations into the case," he added.

On Op Bersepadu conducted between Feb 25 to 29, Zaki said 376 people were arrested for various drug offences.

He added that the 376, aged between 15 and 65, comprised 361 men and 15 women.

"Also seized in the operation were various types of drugs worth nearly RM400,000," he added.
