PETALING JAYA: The police will summon the father of a five-year-old boy who was discovered dead after being presumed to have drowned in a recreational lake at Sea Park here, yesterday.

Petaling Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar@Ismail also said that it had recorded two witnesses' statements to help with the investigation.

Two days ago, an autistic child was found drowned in a lake in Taman Medan, here.

Shahrulnizam said the body of the boy was found floating in the lake by anglers about 7pm.

"It is understood that before the boy's body was found, his father had lodged a report at the Sea Park police station. The missing persons report was lodged about 4pm.

"The body of the child was sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre Forensics Medicine Department for post-mortem," he said.

The boy's mother had also posted on Facebook at 4pm, asking for help in finding her child, whom she claimed had gone missing in the Taman Aman neighbourhood.
