SHAH ALAM: Three teenagers who allegedly robbed a foreigner at knife point in Taman Connaught were detained by the police.

Acting deputy Cheras district police chief Superintendent Ridzuan Khalid said acting on a police report by the victim, a police team from the Crime Investigation Division conducted surveillance and apprehended the three local boys.

The suspects were detained in separate locations around Kuala Lumpur at about 2am, this morning.

"The boys all aged between 14 and 15 years old, secondary school students were believed to have robbed the foreigner before they fled the scene with RM500.

"The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries.," he said.

All three suspects, Ridzuan said did not have any prior criminal records and have been remanded for five days, starting today.

He advised public against engaging in any unlawful activities and urged anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Cheras Police Hotline at 03-9284 5050/5051, the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999, or any nearby Police Station.
