KUALA LUMPUR: Police have remanded a 41-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing a teenage boy in Jalan Laksamana, Batu Caves, Selangor.

Gombak police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohd Nasir said the suspect would be remanded for six days from until Jan 12 for investigation of sexually harassing a 13-year-old boy at his home.

The 13-year-old was on his way home after buying nasi lemak before being approached by the suspect who offered to send him home on his motorcycle on Jan 7.

He said the suspect then proceeded to bring the victim to his home where he sexually assaulted the teenage boy.

"The teenage boy ran away after the suspect gave him RM20.

"The victim told his parents about the incident and they subsequently brought him to the police station to file a report.

"Acting on the information, on Jan 7 at 1.50am, police arrested the suspect and he was remanded for six days," he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 14A of the Sexual Harassment Against Children Act 2017.
