The 30 people detained comprised 14 Bangladeshis, Indonesians (5), Indian nationals (5), Pakistanis (3), Nepalese (2) and a Myanmar national.

A statement from the department said the operation dubbed 'Op Kutip' at midnight was carried out after it received reports from members of the public about TBS being a hotspot for illegal immigrants.

"The operation was focused on a location identified as a hotspot for illegal immigrants based on public reports and intelligence gathered by the department's Operation Division officials carried out in the past week.

"The raid resulted in the successful apprehension of 30 illegal immigrants who were found to violate the Immigration Act 1959/63.

"The detained individuals comprise 14 citizens from Bangladesh, five from Indonesia, five from India, three from Pakistan, two from Nepal, and one from Myanmar," it said.

It added that all detainees will be placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for investigation and further action.
