KUALA LUMPUR: The public must give some space for the police to conduct its investigation into Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin's murder case.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husian said the probe was still ongoing and it was being carried out in a comprehensive manner.

He said as investigators continued to look for clues, it was not giving up on the case . He said it was still tracing new clues and gathering more information to make sure the culprit is apprehended.

"We hope for the people to give police some space to gather evidence or information, which will facilitate investigations," he said when contacted today.

The case has entered its 13th day. Police today conducted scheduled patrols in Block R, Apartment Idaman in Damansara Idaman, Petaling Jaya.

On Dec 6, the body of Zayn Rayyan, a six-year-old autistic boy was found lying near a river, approximately 200m from his house at Apartment Idaman, Damansara at about 10pm.

The body of the six-year-old was discovered by a group of residents conducting a search operation.

His disappearance was noticed by his mother as they climbed the stairs to return to their third-floor apartment about 12.30pm the previous day.
