KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a Honda Civic and a Yamaha Ego motorcycle which occurred yesterday along Jalan Tun Teja 3 in Taman Tun Teja, Rawang.

Acting Gombak police chief Superintendent Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said they were alerted by the 18-second video which has gone viral on social media.

The video showed the Honda Civic colliding with the motorcycle before fleeing the scene of the incident which occurred about 3.30pm.

"According to the ongoing investigation, the incident unfolded when the car driver attempted to escape from a dispute with his wife.

"A bystander, who was at the scene during the altercation, tried to intervene by blocking the fleeing car but ended up being struck.

"The victim suffered injuries to the elbow and leg," he said in a statement.

The case was being investigated under sections 307 and 377 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and causing injuries by endangering the lives or safety of others, respectively.

Ariffin urged the public with any information on the case to come forward to assist investigations.
