IPOH: Police have received full medical reports from the Kuala Kangsar Hospital today over a bullying case involving form four and form five students at Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK).

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the medical reports were received this morning. He said investigation papers would be resubmitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) next week.

"We have completed our investigation papers and submitted them to the Deputy Public Prosecutor Office before they will be forwarded to the A-GC.

"We got back the investigation papers so that we can complete it. We are waiting for full medical reports from the Kuala Kangsar Hospital. We received the report from the hospital today.

"Once the investigation papers are completed, we will send them back to the A-GC for further instruction, whether to charge the students or otherwise," Yusri told a press conference at the Perak police headquarters here today.

The case is investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt which provides a maximum jail term of one year or a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both, if convicted.

Asked if there was any request to settle the case outside court, Yusri said neither the parents of victims or the school came forward to tell the police that they wanted to do so.

"The parents involved and the school did not meet police to withdraw the case."

Three Form Four students were bullied by four form five students at MCKK.

On Nov 5, it was reported that police confirmed receiving a report over a bullying case involving Form Four and Form Five students at the all-boys boarding school.

Kuala Kangsar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob had said that police came across viral messages relating to the incident on Nov 4 after it was posted on Instagram.

The bullying took place on Sept 24 at about 10pm. In the incident, the victim- a Form Four student - was beaten up by a Form Five student.

The victim was taken to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital by the school for further treatment.

Further checks showed normal physical findings and the victim did not suffer any serious injuries.
