KUALA LUMPUR: Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will work together in applying for a Red Notice on Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's son-in-law, Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, from Interpol.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the force was ready to work with MACC, considering that Interpol is an organisation comprising police agencies from around the world.

"We will help in any way possible... inter-agency cooperation is no problem at all," he told a press conference at federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki had yesterday said MACC may seek Interpol's assistance to bring Adlan back to Malaysia.

A Red Notice is similar to an arrest warrant which alerts Interpol member agencies to look out for, detain and send the person to the country which had applied for the notice.

Adlan and lawyer Mansoor Saat are wanted to assist investigations into the misappropriation of millions of ringgit in funds related to the registration, recruitment and biometric storage of data of foreign workers for a ministry.

Adlan, whose last known address is Lot 65, Sunway Kiara Hills, Jalan 32/70A Desa Sri Hartamas, was said to have left the country on May 17.

Mansoor, whose last known address is 5 Jalan SS19/1C, Subang Jaya in Selangor, left four days later.

However, Adlan, through his lawyer Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, had yesterday issued a statement saying that he was not on the run and would return to Malaysia as soon as he had dealt with business matters overseas.

Azam today called on Adlan to "stop making excuses" and return to Malaysia to cooperate with MACC.
