KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has prepared several criminal breach of trust charges against Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Its chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki also confirmed that the commission has completed its investigation into the case involving Adlan.
"Investigation into the case has been completed. We are ready to proceed with prosecution (Adlan).
"We have already prepared some charges on him and if I am not mistaken it (the charges) are related to CBT.
"The only thing is that he could not be located .. He has yet to return to the country," he told reporters after attending the 10th Certified Integrity Officers (CeIO) Convocation ceremony here today.
It was reported that police were still waiting for a response on the Red Notice application filed against former prime minister Muhyiddin's son-in-law at the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the application for Adlan and his partner has yet to be acknowledged by Interpol headquarters, causing a delay in issuing the Red Notice.
Adlan, in a statement from his lawyer Datuk Dr Baljit Singh Sidhu, previously denied MACC's claims that he is not cooperating with its investigation.
Baljit also said Adlan vehemently denied any suggestion that he is not contactable and that he is in communication with the investigating officer in charge of the investigation.
"He has always stated that he is prepared to co-operate with any investigation as required by law but will not countenance any threats against him and his family."
Baljit added that Adlan would certainly return to Malaysia as soon as possible to answer all questions and to assist the MACC with any investigation so long as the elements of threats and persecution are eliminated.
