KUALA LUMPUR: Police are expected to call in a 29-year-old actor who allegedly punched his ex-wife in an early morning incident at the Sungai Buloh Rest and Relaxation (R&R) on Thursday.
It is learnt that Selangor police Sexual, Women and Children Investigation Division (D11) have taken a statement from the victim, and was now proceeding to question the suspect.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the victim, who is also 29, had gone to the state police headquarters after being called in to give her statement to facilitate investigations.
"The victim has given statement in relation to the incident, while the suspect is expected to be called in by the police soon.
"Any action to arrest anyone would depend on the cooperation and statement we obtain," he told Berita Harian today.
Hussein said police needed to complete its investigations before the next course of action.
The victim had lodged a police report at the Jinjang police station following the incident on Thursday. In the report, she had claimed that the ex-husband had punched her a few times which led to her suffering injuries on her eyes.
It is understood the incident was when the two of them were in a car at the Sungai Buloh R&R.
A family member of the victim had confirmed on Thursday that the victim had been punched about three times after she was involved in an argument with the ex-husband.
The family member said the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and a CT scan was done to ensure there were no internal injury. The victim was then allowed to return home.
Netizens raised questions when the victim uploaded posts on social media that are believed to be about her injuries.
She uploaded three posts to her Instagram Story about receiving treatment at a hospital.
The pictures she uploaded showed the injuries to the left side of her face, which was bandaged.
