JOHOR BARU: An employee of a government-linked company (GLC) was arrested by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for submitting false claims to her company in relation to a development programme in one of the districts in the state.

She was suspected of submitting over RM10,000 in false claims some years ago.

According to sources, the 39-year-old female employee was arrested at 10am this morning after she was called to appear at the state headquarters to have her statement recorded.

It was learnt that the suspect submitted false claims between 2017 and 2019 to the GLC which was involved in the implementation of a programme in a district in Johor.

However, the programme was not fully implemented.

Johor MACC Director Datuk Azmi Alias ​confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

The suspect was later released on MACC bail.
