PUTRAJAYA: Police have arrested 643 individuals who defied the Movement Control Order (MCO) as of yesterday, compared to 489 individuals the day before.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the total, 576 individuals have been remanded while 67 were granted bail.

He said to date, 947 individuals have been charged for defying the MCO.

"The cumulative total of arrest as of yesterday was 21,749 individuals."

Meanwhile, Ismail said authorities have set up 828 roadblocks nationwide and checked 637,982 vehicles on the road yesterday.

"While a total of 6,669 premises have been inspected by the authorities (to ensure compliance of the MCO)." said Ismail.
