GEORGE TOWN: A Form Three student, who allegedly attacked his schoolmate using steel tables and chairs inside the school premises, has been released on police bail late last night.

Sources said the 15-year-old was released at 10pm after police recorded his statement.

“The student was questioned for about six hours after he was detained. We released him as we are satisfied with the statement given.

“Police have also recorded the victim’s statement as well as from several other witnesses to assist in investigation,” the source added.

In the 6.30am incident on Monday, the 15-year-old victim sustained injuries to the back of his body after tables and chairs were thrown at him following a fight.

The victim informed the school’s disciplinary teacher after the morning assembly as well as his parents, who subsequently came to the school.

However, the victim’s father became angry as he claimed to have reported the bullying case before, but no action was taken.

A video allegedly showing the father expressing anger towards the attacker’s parents has gone viral.
