TANJUNG MALIM: A father of four was charged at the magistrate's court here today with the murder of a fishmonger last month.
Zulkafli Abdullah, 47, was accused of killing Roslli Zulkharnain Kamaruddin, 30, in front of a house in Taman Slim Permai, Slim River at 2.30pm on Jan 8.
The accused was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
No plea was recorded when the charge was read to him before magistrate Intan Nurul Farena Zainal Abidin.
Zulkafli nodded when asked if he understood the charge read against him.
Deputy public prosecutor Aza Fyreen Abdul Aziz prosecuted, while the accused was not represented.
The court has set February 16 for mention.
It was reported that Roslli died while receiving treatment at the Slim River Hospital due to severe abdominal injuries after being stabbed with a knife.
