KUALA LUMPUR: Police will submit their investigation papers on Felda's Jalan Semarak deal to the Attorney-General's Chambers by end of next week.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the investigation is ongoing and the police officers are working diligently to wrap up their investigations.
On how many witnesses were called and have their statements recorded, Fuzi declined to reveal the details.
"We will submit the investigation paper but that is subject to the progress of the investigation," he said after launching Aseanapol Secretariat's new office at Bank Rakyat Twin Towers, here, today.
Earlier this month, police recorded former Felda chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad's statement to assist their probe into the land scandal.
It is learnt that the police had recorded statements from at least nine people including board of director’s from Felda as well as developer Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd.
Berita Harian, in an exclusive report last month, broke the story last month that Felda was at risk of losing ownership of the piece of land worth more than RM200 million in what had been described as a “dubious deal” in 2015.
The plot of land, which had been earmarked for the KLVC development project, will feature seven towers, including Felda’s iconic tower, to be known as KLVC Tower 1A.
The ownership transfer of the land took place when FIC Sdn Bhd appointed SPSB as its main developer on June 3, 2014, and it was granted full power of attorney to develop the land.
Earlier, Fuzi witnessed the ceremony for the hand-over duties between the outgoing Aseanapol executive director Inspector-General Yohanes Agus Mulyonon and the incoming Colonel Kenechanh Phommachack.
Meanwhile, Fuzi said police are still working at extraditing back a suspected Malaysian militant who was arrested at the Karachi airport in Pakistan.
"We had contacted out Pakistani counterparts to have the suspect deported but so far we have not received a solid response from them.
"The progress is slow but we will wait," he said, adding that the suspect is linked to the Islamic State.
