SANDAKAN: Police are hunting two men believed to be involved in two robbery cases this morning.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din said the robbery occurred at 2.05am and 3.13am at two hotels in the district.

“Based on the time and locations, we believe the suspects are the same persons.

“Police are investigating via the closed-circuit television from the hotels,” he said when contacted.

One of the men, who wore a helmet, took out a knife and threatened receptionists at both hotels to give them money.

The first hotel at Batu 6 lost RM450 while the other one at Batu 4 surrendered about RM800 to the robbers.

There was no casualty during the incidents.

“One of the receptionists also saw the other man take out a pistol during the robbery but he put back the weapon into his jacket,” he said, adding police believe the pistol could have been fake.
