MELAKA: Police arrested two locals, a man and a woman, who they believe were involved in 21 snatch thefts and seized 87 items here,

State police chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan said four more people are sought for investigations in connection with the arrests.

"The suspects aged 24 to 35 will be detained further,” he said adding the two were held recently.

Jalil said the two would pretend to be a married couple when they spot their prey. They would act together with one asking for directions while the snatching from the victims, he said.

"They have been active between February and July this year. Both tested positive for drug abuse,” he said.

Among the items seized from them were two Honda EX5, six handbags, 10 identification cards and 11 drivers’ license.
