NIBONG TEBAL: Fire gutted a warehouse and partially damaged two others early on Christmas Day here.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the blaze razed the warehouse of Golden Tanjung Pagar Sdn Bhd in Jalan Seberang Tasek, Sungai Bakap, near here at about 6am.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The spokesman said the three warehouses were used to store timber and plastic used to make furniture. All stored items went up in smoke in one warehouse, while half of the items stored in the other two warehouses were spared damage.
He said 15 firemen were able to bring the blaze under control by 6.45am.
"Our team managed to douse the flames by about 8am," he said.
He added that nine fire volunteer units from nearby areas also chipped in to help.
The cause of the blaze has yet to be ascertained.
