GEORGE TOWN: A woman in her 40s was found dead in a car parked next to a bus stop here today.

A passerby spotted the body slumped in the driver’s seat of the car, which sat in front of the Kampung Baru wet market, Air Itam, at 2.15pm.

A police forensic team was dispatched to the scene to gather evidence, and the unit's presence drew scores of onlookers.

Sources confirm that the woman died of a heart attack, and no foul play is suspected in her death.

The victim had been driving alone and probably pulled over before her heart attack struck.

Several unidentified family members rushed to the scene and were seen grieving near the vehicle. They refused to speak to the press.

The body was sent to the Penang Hospital for a post-mortem.
