SEPANG: Yamaha has launched another scooter to add to their arsenal of automatics.

In conjunction with the MotoGP race in Sepang, the NVX sports scooter was launched earlier today by none other than Yamaha Racing's star rider, Valentino Rossi.

The NVX (which carries the moniker Aerox in the Indonesian and Thailand markets) is a liquid-cooled, fuel injected SOHC 4 valve 155cc four stroke scooter especially designed for the Pan Asean market.

Its revolutionary design is rooted in its sportiness and larger sized compared to the average Asean scooter. It also features 14-inch wheels with wider aspect tyres and Stop/Start capability for better fuel efficiency.

But the feather in its cap is the VVA system. Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) means the NVX engine produces excellent torque at low rpms while providing high output at higher rpms.

Look for a test ride soon in Cars, Bikes and Trucks.
