PUTRAJAYA: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen paid an official visit to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the Prime Minister's Office, here today.

Hun Sen was accompanied by his wife Bun Rany Hun Sen, Cambodian cabinet ministers and senior officials.

They were greeted by Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

They arrived at the Perdana Square at 10.05am and was accorded an official welcome by the 1st Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment, in conjunction with their four-day visit to Malaysia.

Also present to greet them were Cabinet ministries, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and senior officials as well as foreign diplomats.

Later, Rosmah will be hosting an official dinner in honour of Hun Sen and wife, as well as ministers and members of the Cambodian delegation.

A Malaysia-Cambodia Business Dialogue, hosted by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), will be held in the afternoon.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said both Najib and Hun Sen are also expected to witness the signing of a memorandum of understand (MoU) between Malaysia and Cambodia on the International Volunteers Programme of MyCorps in Cambodia, MoU between Malaysia and Cambodia on Information and Broadcasting Cooperation, and a Letter of Intent between the two governments on Agricultural Cooperation.

The ministry said the total trade between the two countries stood at US$385.8 million in 2015.

The volume of trade has consistently been in favour of Malaysia with exports to Cambodia recorded at US$234.5 million while imports amounted to US$151.3 million.

Malaysia's main imports from Cambodia are textiles, clothing and footwear, natural rubber, electrical and electronic products, palm oil and palm-based products and machinery, the ministry said in a statement.

Cambodia has in recent years emerged as one of the key investment destinations for Malaysian companies.

Malaysian investments are diversified, including banking, manufacturing, telecommunication and the energy sector. Investment in the services sector registered incremental growth.

Prior to the visit, Hun Sen attended the World Economic Forum on Asean held in Kuala Lumpur from June 1 to 2.
