GEORGE TOWN : The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will record a statement from Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng soon with regards to the issue on the purchase of his RM2.8mil bungalow.

MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Mustafar Ali, without giving a time frame on when the move will be executed, said the agency will record statements from Lim to facilitate and complete the investigations.

“Our Operations Division will be recording statements at the soonest, and they will issue an official statement on this matter,” he answered briefly today when asked when Lim would be hauled up for investigation.

Lim ia expected to be questioned over the bungalow, which was speculated to have been bought at below market price.

Mustafar was met after the signing of a Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) between Penang Water Supply Corporation Sdn Bhd (PBAPP) and MACC here today.

Also present were Lim, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Rashid Hasnon, PBAPP general manager Datuk Ir. Jaseni Maidinsa.
