GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recorded statements from several state Gerakan leaders in connection to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s RM2.8mil bungalow issue.

State liaison committee vice-chairman H’ng Khoon Leng said he was called in for investigation by the authorities following the police report he lodged regarding the bungalow in 2009.

“I lodged a police report regarding the bungalow purchase seven years ago but back then there wasn’t any investigation carried out as per my knowledge.

“No MACC officials investigated my statement but recently when the issue emerged, I was called in for investigation following my report lodged in 2009,” he said today.

Lim’s bungalow on Pinhorn Road became the subject of controversy after Tasek Gelugor member of parliament Datuk Shabudin Yahaya told the Parliament that it had been undervalued.

Shabudin claimed that the bungalow, on 10,161 sq ft of land, was bought by Lim on Oct 25 last year for RM2.8mil, when the market value of the property was between RM6mil and RM6.5mil.
