GEORGE TOWN: Penang MIC will consult the state Education Department tomorrow to obtain an amicable solution to the alleged bullying cases occurring at SMK Bandar Tasek Mutiara.

Its chairman Datuk K.Thangavelu said the matter has taken into serious consideration following the dismissal of a Form Three student who was the victim of a bully case.

"We will urge the state Education Department to investigate the matter and take action immediately.

"We want an amicable solution concerning both parties," he said at the state MIC office today.

Some 100 parents of students from SMK Bandar Tasek Mutiara held a protest outside the school gates yesterday.

They had gathered to demand an end to the alleged bullying and beatings by a group of students from the school.

The beatings and fights between the students were brought to public attention after a parent lodged a police report after witnessing the incident.
