GEORGE TOWN : A revised guideline that addresses bullying will be sent to all states by next Monday, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid today.

The amended guideline under the Education Act 1996 is for reference to address bullying cases occurring in schools.

"The guideline has always been there.

"However, the ministry had revised and amended the law and it will be sent to all 14 states by next Monday," said Mahdzir at the State Education Office today.

The move was made following an incident in which a group of Year Three pupils allegedly bullied a schoolmate, making him cut the tip of his tongue at a school in Bukit Tinggi last Thursday.

The case is investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation after a police report was lodged.
