GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng should have known the actual value of bungalow only after he paid stamp duties for the site, a state DAP leader said.

State DAP publicity secretary Ng Wei Aik said when Lim was offered the RM2.8 million price tag for the bungalow in early 2012, he was not aware of its market value then.

“Lim only knew the bungalow’s market value of RM4.27 million after he received a notice from the Inland Revenue Board.

“This notice was sent sometime after the Lim completed the sale on July 28, 2015,” he said in a press conference here today.

Lim's bungalow at Jalan Pinhorn came into scrutiny after he bought it at a hefty discount.

The bungalow's former owner, Phang Li Koon, was allegedly linked to the sale of a government land in George Town.

Phang, in a sworn statement, said she had no links with the government land sale.
