PENANG: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman defended Putrajaya’s plan to bring in 1.5 million Bangladeshi workers.

She said the government had no choice but to bring in the foreigners because Malaysians were not interested to take up jobs deemed dirty, dangerous and difficult (3D) jobs in the country.

“The move will not affect unemployed Malaysians because the vacancies are for the 3D jobs already shunned by Malaysians,” she said during her visit to Universiti Sains Malaysia today.
