KUALA LUMPUR: Two despatch riders linked to the stabbing of a television station floor manager two weeks ago were charged at the magistrate's court here today with rioting with weapons.

M Tinesh and M Arvendran, both 20, pleaded not guilty to rioting while armed with a weapon with the intention of causing hurt to 33-year-old Ahmad Hawari Zakaria.

The duo allegedly committed the offence at a condominium at Jalan Usahawan 2, Setapak Wangsa Maju here at 11.30pm on Dec 18.

Deputy public prosecutor Noor Jazilah Mohd Yushaa did not offer any bail, saying that the crime was a non-bailable offence.

In pleading for bail, their counsel, Vincent Chew Zi Xian had asked the court to consider the accused’s' age factor.

Magistrate Husna Dzulkifly then set RM5,000 bail for each accused and set Jan 19 next year for mention.
