KUANTAN: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob today refuted claims that the landslide at KM52.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway yesterday was caused by logging activities near the area.

"The incident was a natural disaster and not caused by logging.

"However, I do not deny that there were trees cut down about 1.2km from the affected area, but it was to facilitate the construction of high voltage electricity pylons by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB)

"But the project has been stopped for the past four months and we have asked TNB to find a new route for their project," he said.
