TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, VADS Bhd, has launched its Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to meet the needs of large enterprises in the country by offering a full spectrum of customised cloud computing services.

The managed information and communications technology (ICT) service provider, which serves over 500 medium to large businesses across industries, had inked an agreement with IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd last Friday for its first VPC.

Its chief executive officer (CEO) Ahmad Azhar Yahya said the private cloud solution fulfils customers’ requirement for flexible cloud computing solutions without the need for high upfront investments.

“The implementation of cloud-ready infrastructure and innovative solutions will simplify and enhance business operations by making the infrastructure fully automated to increase user experience and control.

“The deployment will also include Backup-as-a-Service and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service to ensure data protection and business continuity,” said Ahmad Azhar at the signing ceremony.

Also present at the event were Multimedia Development Corp CEO Datuk Mohd Badlisham Ghazali and IBM Malaysia managing director Paul Moung.

Moung said IBM has a proven record of successful partnerships with communications service providers globally and the company is keen to replicate its success with VADS.

“We are excited to work with VADS to develop this robust cloud infrastructure and create superior service experience for our clients,” he said.
