KUALA LUMPUR: Tune Ins Holdings Bhd is planning a second attempt to break into the Indonesian market via a partnership with a local peer.

Krishnan said the company is taking a more cautious approach into the Indonesian market as their first attempt did not pan out.

“This time, we are confident, as we have given our commitment to shareholders,” he said after the company’s third annual general meeting here yesterday.

He said the company has a third-party partner in Indonesia, but if it is able to obtain a general insurance licence there, it will end the existing partnership.

Tune Ins is looking to introducing travel insurance business as well as other possible insurance businesses in Indonesia, he said.

Sasitharan said 70 per cent of Tune Ins’ business comes from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. It has 14 insurance partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region and 25 partnerships worldwide.
