SELANGOR maintained their two point lead over second-placed Darul Ta'zim in the Super League after the 32-time Malaysia Cup champions defeated Terengganu 4-1 at Sultan Nasiruddin Shah Stadium yesterday.

Paulo Rangel headed home his 21st goal of the season in the first half of stoppage time before Abdul Hadi Yahya (49th), S. Veenod (89th) and S. Kunanlan (90th) completed the rout.

Terengganu replied through Moustapha Dabo in the 53rd minute.

Referee Mohd Nafeez Abdul Wahab made a controversial decision by sending off Rangel after the Brazil striker had scored for an off-the-ball incident.

The match official, who did not see the incident, consulted his linesman before making the decision. It did not go down well as Rangel had to be restrained by his teammates before being led off to the dressing room.

"It is an unbelievable result as we played with only 10 players in the second half. I am happy with the result and hopefully, this will motivate us for the title," said Selangor coach Mehmet Durakovic in Kuala Terengganu yesterday.

With the win, Selangor have collected 37 points, two more than Darul Ta'zim, who overcame Sime Darby 3-0 at Larkin Stadium.

Amri Yahyah scored his third of the season in the 44th minute before Argentine Jorge Pereyra Diaz added a brace in the 52nd and 81st minutes for Darul Ta'zim' 10th win of the season.

Bruno Martelotto scored with his first touch 10 seconds after coming on to earn Armed Forces a 2-2 draw with FA Cup winners Pahang at Selayang Stadium.

The result is a huge blow for Pahang, who remain fourth in the standings with 30 points, in their bid to win the league.

After fending off waves of Forces attacks, Pahang scored in the 21st minute on the counter when Ahmad Fauzi Saari headed Saifulnizam Miswan's cross into his own goal.

But Argentine Juan Arostegui equalised in the 56th minute only for Saifulnizam to regain Pahang's lead 13 minutes later.

However Martelotto saved the day for the relegation-threatened Forces by netting off Venice Elphi's cross in the 77th minute.

Kelantan notched their ninth win of the season by edging defending champions LionsXII 2-1 in Kota Baru.

National striker Ahmad Fakri Saarani (30th) and Khairul Izuan Rosli (60th) netted for the homesters while Faris Ramli replied for Lions in the 69th minute.

In Kuching, Sarawak overcame T-Team 2-0 courtesy of goals from Muamer Salibasic (30th) and Joseph Kalang Tie (55th).

In Shah Alam, relegation-threatened PKNS suffered their 10th defeat, losing 3-1 to Perak.

Perak scored through Norhakim Isa (seventh), Hassan Daher (17th) and Milan Purovic (63rd) while Alif Haikal Sabri replied for PKNS in the 31st minute.
