GEORGE TOWN: TREAT your family to a Royal Christmas celebration at Gurney Plaza while ushering 2015 in style.
To start the festivities, a Christmas lighting ceremony was held at the central atrium. It was officiated by Pulau Tikus assemblyman Yap Soo Huey and centre manager Lawrence Teh.
A jazz band, Northern Jazz Ensemble, treated guests to a range of Yuletide classics as the lights enthralled visitors.
“We have planned many shows and shopping promotions for this month. Everyone is invited to join the fun and have the chance to win prizes,” said Gurney Plaza marketing and communications manager Peter Chan.
The Royal Fairy Tale Musical Show will be on at 2pm and 6.30pm (except on Mondays) at the central atrium until Dec 21.
The show features Prince Herbert and a host of magical characters telling a tale of good defeating evil.
Kids aged 5 to 10 are invited to participate in the Little Prince and Princess Costume contest on Sunday, at 5.30pm.
Children are required to dress up as a prince or princess for the chance to win fabulous prizes.
Photo buffs can participate in the Royal Photo Christmas contest until Dec 28 by capturing memorable images of the dazzling Christmas decorations and upload them via Instagram/Twitter with the hashtag #GParoyalchristmas for the chance to take home a Tony Moly Christmas set worth RM330.
Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM1,000 (maximum of two receipts on the same day) until Dec 18 are entitled to redeem a bottle of Chloe Fragrance worth RM233.
HSBC cardholders only need to spend a minimum of RM800 using their cards to redeem the perfume but is limited to the first 50 shoppers.
Nearing Christmas, the first 100 shoppers who spend a minimum of RM1,200 (maximum of two receipts on the same day) will receive a Crabtree & Evelyn gift set worth RM313, while HSBC cardholders only need to spend a minimum of RM1,000 for it.
To celebrate Gurney Plaza’s 13th anniversary, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM350 (maximum of two receipts on the same day) until Jan 4, 2015 will be eligible to take part in a lucky draw.
Prizes worth up to RM37,000 will be up for grabs, including the grand prize of an Imperial Holiday Tour travel package worth RM22,824 and a Rado timepiece worth RM4,280.
