KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar yesterday on continued buying momentum for the local unit, a dealer said.

At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2210/2130 against the US dollar compared with 3.2275/2295 on Thursday.

It also traded higher against other major currencies, rising against the euro to 4.3779/3812 from Thursday’s 4.3936/3970 and against the yen to 3.1388/1414 from 3.1553/1585.

The ringgit climbed to 2.5639/5661 against the Singapore dollar from 2.5682/5706 and appreciated against the British pound to 5.3967/4007 from 5.4188/4234. Bernama
