AS part of its corporate social responsibility commitment to local charity projects, Pizza Hut Malaysia visited three charity homes last month in conjunction with its latest campaign, the Taste of Italy.

A series of fun-filled parties were organised which included celebrities and personalities and entertainment from Awang the Clown.

The homes were Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya Kirtarsh in Rawang, and Shelter Home for Children in Petaling Jaya.

The Pizza Hut team was greeted by smiling children who had eagerly waited for the visitors to arrive.

The team helped to put up balloons and decorations to create a party atmosphere. The celebration was filled with fun and games, and Awang tickled the audience with his larger-than-life personality and balloon sculptures.

The children and the other guests were also treated to a magic show; singing and dancing; a meal of the new Big Italia Box consisting of a pizza, pasta and bruschetta from the Taste of Italy range, New Orleans drummets, and garlic bread.

The celebrities and personalities who turned up for the parties were fashion icon Wak Doyok and celebrity image consultant Megat Alfie who visited Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh; celebrity hairstylist Bambang Soteto , DJ and actor Nas-t, and actor Aman Nassim (Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya Kirtarsh) and actress and singer Betty Rahmat and fashion designer Syaiful Baharim (Shelter Home in Petaling Jaya).

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd Group Corporate Services chief and Pizza Hut Malaysia operator Kamaruldzaman Salleh and Pizza Hut Malaysia deputy general manager Sharon Khor were also present at the charity homes.

"There is nothing more satisfactory than mingling with the orphans and those from unprivileged communities.

"I'm proud of Pizza Hut's efforts, and this is a heartwarming day for me to see the smiles on these children's faces," said Kamaruldzaman.

"It was an awesome experience to be able to visit the orphans. Their smiles and beautiful happy faces were so humbling. I'm thankful to Pizza Hut for including me in this visit," said Wak.

Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh guardian Sharifah Adlan said: "The children had so much fun and I think that Pizza Hut has shown the orphans how wonderful it is to share."

The children also received goodie bags from Pizza Hut containing educational toys and Taste of Italy T-shirts.
