IPOH: THE Perak Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) scored a first with its mobile application, which will provide the department’s latest information, recently.

Developed by the department’s in-house corporate communication unit, the application — JPS Perak Mobile Apps — is now available for download for Android devices.

Perak DID director Datuk Abdul Razak Dahalan said a similar application for Apple iPhone was being developed and was expected to be launched by year-end.

“Apart from the department’s calendar of events, those who download the application will be informed whenever the department’s tender and quotation is being called.”

Speaking to reporters here recently before the department’s buka puasa event, Razak said the people could also lodge complaints and provide feedback through the application.

“As the application mirrors our department’s website, the public need not surf the website to lodge their complaints or feedback.”

Razak assured actions would be taken for complaints lodged through the application.

“To confirm whether a complaint or feedback had been received through the application, a notification will also be sent to the user.”

He said the idea for the application came about at the end of
last year following complaints from the people that they were missing out on the department’s latest news.

“It took us about six months to come up with the application,
which is developed in house,” he said.

To download, go to Play Store on your smartphone and type JPS Perak.
