GEORGE TOWN: A Nigerian man was detained after he was found with 2.5kg syabu in a condominium in Batu Ferringhi here on Friday.
The 32-year-old, who entered the country using a student visa, was picked up with the drugs worth more than RM400,000 at 3pm.
Checks showed the drugs were smuggled from China and was meant for distribution.
The foreigner, expected to be charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, faces the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
