PUTRAJAYA: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry have resolved 95.8 per cent of over 14,000 complaints received in 2014.

Its minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said the complaints were for various sorts of offences committed by traders and businesses nationwide last year.

The ministry, he said, had also conducted 2.6 million inspections on the businesses in 2014 and will not pace down the number of checks after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) takes effect on April 1.

"We will not compromise in taking action to protect the rakyat and businesses that have integrity," he told a press conference after officiating the Compliance Pledge for Traders, at the ministry, here this afternoon.
