GEORGE TOWN: More than 8,000 people from 153 organisations marched together in a parade to mark the Prophet Muhammad's birthday today.
They walked five kilometres from the marching field in Universiti Sains Malaysia at Bukit Gambir to Dewan Tunku Syed Putra, passing through Jalan Sungai Dua.
Leading the parade was Kepala Batas Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.
The celebration in USM was organised by the Penang State Federal Action Council.
