GEORGE TOWN: A group of fishermen had a rude shock to stumble upon a fellow fisherman's body floating in the sea near Teluk Kumbar waters here today.

The body of Palman Sulaiman, 60, was fished out at 6.2 nautical mile off the Teluk Kumbar beachfront at 2pm.

Northeast District police chief Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the body was taken to the marine police base in Batu Uban by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.

He said the body was sent to the Penang Hospital for a post-mortem.

Palman has been missing since Monday after venturing out to the sea for his daily routine..

It was believed that 60-year-old man had drowned after falling into the sea while pulling a trawl out from the waters.
