AALIA Zaafira Tovar maintained her 100 per cent record in bagging Round Three of the ART GP Talent Cup Asia at the Plus Speedway in Subang Jaya over the weekend.

The 12-year-old cemented her victory in dominant form again, taking the win in the final by crossing the finish line 0.7 seconds ahead of second placed Amer Haris Jefry.

The victory meant Aalia opened up a comfortable lead in the championship, looking good to seal the title she had targeted when the series enters Round Four next month.

Her title bid was made easier when closest rival Lucas Thomas of Singapore got involved in a crash in mid-race to eventually finish ninth.

“I drove my best in the final and took every opportunity. It’s three wins out of three rounds so far,” said Aalia.

“I think Amer and Rizq (Qarin Ahmad Hurais) battling each other for second position also allowed me to pull away from them and I managed to open up a gap.”

Rizq was the fastest karter leading into the final, having clocked the fastest laps in the heats and pre-final. By Arnaz M. Khairul
