THE 2014 FIFA World Cup which begins on Friday has led to an increase in demand for football paraphernalia.

Al-Ikhsan advertising and promotion designer Mohd Rustam Ali Hashim said the store is ready to welcome the "beautiful game".

"There has been a high demand for jerseys and football boots, especially from our outlets in Bukit Bintang Plaza and Angsana Johor Baru," said Rustam.

"Our jerseys are the original replicas and we have jerseys of the German, Spain and Italian teams," he said.

As the games are being played in Brazil, Al-Ikhsan had its Samba Sale on May 29 for football fans.

"We are holding this promotion at our stores in Johor Baru, Seremban, Bangi and Kota Baru where our customers are offered RM59 for a pair of boots and RM89 for a jersey," he added.

Al-Ikhsan is also providing its clientele with other merchandises including backpacks and soccer balls during the sale which ends on July 14.

Meanwhile, Royal sporting house (RSH) advertising and promotion general manager Manish Sapra said they started their promotions and sales for the World Cup since early this year.

"We had organised competitions on Facebook that just ended where the grand winner walked away with two tickets to watch the World Cup finals.

"We are having another contest starting this month till the end of next month through football games mobile application. Participants will stand a chance to win RM1,000 worth of vouchers, discounts and World Cup match balls," he said.

Manish said RSH has been receiving good feedback from its customers and enjoying good sales.

He said RSH's Adidas match ball stock has been replenished twice in all stores throughout the country.
