SUBANG JAYA: A 36-YEAR-OLD embassy official and his girlfriend were shot at by two men on a motorcycle at Puchong Gateway here yesterday.
In the 5.10am incident, the pair, both locals, were walking to their car after having breakfast when the suspects, riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle, opened fire at them.
It is learnt that the couple had a late-night outing with six friends before they adjourned to the restaurant for breakfast.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Ramli said two shots were fired, injuring the victims.
“The embassy official was injured in the right thigh, while his girlfriend, in her late 20s, was wounded in the right hand.”
Yahaya said both victims were rushed to Serdang hospital and were reported to be in stable condition, adding that the motive of the attack was still under investigation.
However, he said, he hoped the victims statements would shed light into the case.
“Police are now looking for the two suspects, who match the victims’ preliminary description.”
