DOUBLE trap shooter Benjamin Khor is on a good stead ahead of next month’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Benjamin produced a sensational performance in the Munich leg of the World Cup yesterday by breaking his own national record of 132, set last month at the Iskandar Trophy Championships in Johor Baru.

The 20-year-old bettered his record by four targets for a 136 total over 150 birds.

However, the youngster failed to make the final as he finished 31st out of 54 shooters. Slovakia’s Andrzej Olejnikza won gold followed by American Walton Eller and Brit Tim Kneale.

Benjamin is also an Asian junior record holder of 128 targets, achieved in Kazakhstan last October.

“My son is currently ranked 18th in Asia but I believe he will move up a few rungs after today’s (yesterday) achievement here,” said Edward in Munich yesterday.

Benjamin and Edward are Malaysia’s representatives in the event in the Commonwealth Games.
